The announcement of Amma Vodi scheme by YS jagan Mohan Reddy, as he had promised during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, has a positive impact on the admissions in government schools across the State. Almost all the Government schools in the state have registered increased admissions. Some of the dropouts are also coming back to resume their education. Amma Vodi scheme entitles 15000 Rupees to every mother who sends her child to school.


As per the statistics available with the School education department, enrolment of students in government schools in the 2018-19 academic year was 37,20,988 and in 2019-20 academic year that commenced in June, it increased to 38,18,927. The scheme will be launched in January 2020. The enrollments are expected to increase further in the next couple of months.


Meanwhile, the Chief Minister on Thursday said the infrastructure of government schools would be improved in three years with a target of 100% literacy. “In the next three years, all the government schools will be equipped with the required infrastructure and good facilities. The government will make public a pictorial comparison of the schools before and after the renovation,” Chief Minister jagan Mohan Reddy said.
