After the law was passed in August in parliament which declares three years imprisonment for instant triple Talaq for the husband, the board decided to challenge it in the apex court.

     All india Muslim personal law board (AIMPLB) will move to supreme court for challenging criminalization of instant triple Talaq law, the law came into existence after it was passed in parliament in month of August this year, as per the Muslim women (protection of rights on marriage act 2019) husband can’t divorce the wife by instant triple Talaq, it will be null and void, it is also illegal which attracts three years jail term.

      Although the supreme court strike down the instant triple Talaq in its verdict in August 2017, Muslim men kept on divorcing women by ‘Talaq-e-Biddat' finally government intervened and passed the law by promulgating three ordinances to criminalize the triple Talaq. The government reiterated the rights and gender equality among Muslim women was need of the hour.

     However since the law was passed there has been very instances of instant triple Talaq cases, a couple of cases were reported from state of kerala in recent times. The police proceeded in the cases according to the new enacted law.
